Mobius shawl in pink and orange, woven by Mary

Mary Mandarino

Color and weave structure together in every design, with warp painting to produce one-of-a-kind cloth. Mobius ponchos and shawls, handwoven rugs, scarves.

I have been weaving for the past 35 years and have enjoyed both the solo nature of the craft and the warm community of weavers. As an active member of the Weavers Guild of Boston, I am constantly inspired by the creativity of so many of its members.

From my first introduction to weaving, I knew that weaving would play a very important part of my life.

The act of weaving and the resulting cloth humble me.

Color, in combination with weave structure, is one of the main themes running through all of my designs. Through the process of warp painting, I am able to indulge my need for color and the desire to produce one-of-a-kind woven pieces.
